Manure Spreader Contractor Report - SC Services, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.
SC Services have a contract with Severn Trent Water Authority to spread sixty five thousand tonnes of sludge cake on their customers land. This is accomplished with two Strautmann VS16 manure spreaders complete with horizontal beaters and two spreading discs providing a 24m precision spread pattern.
Scott tried various brands of spreader to accuratley spread the sludge before purchasing. The Strautmann spreader was the only machine that gave him the confidence and results required by his customers.
This year put great pressure on the spreaders with ground conditions as bad anyone has seen. As ground became available it was all guns blazing with the spreaders often sharing the fields with cultivators.
SC Services dismiss the myth that the disc spreaders are limited in their spreading capability by spreading twenty thousand tonnes of straw based farm yard manure per year, as well as chicken and some pig manure.
Scott believes the spreaders accuracy offers customers the ability to look at alternative products to fertilizer for crop nutrition and sees this as a major opportuntiy for business growth.
